Voidhound managed to calm him down a bit, and he told the operatives that when Oradam village was searched by Mantellian soldiers | Mantellian ArmyOrganizationPlanetary and Sector | , his daughter - Qo'el | Qo'el(Human)CharacterMinor Characters (TOR) | - was arrested due to her suspected ties with the separatists | Mantellian SeparatistsOrganizationPlanetary and Sector | and taken to Fort Garnik for interrogation. He swore that neither he nor his daughter were involved in the separatist movement, and begged the operatives to bring his daughter back. The operatives agreed to help, saying that those who did it were criminals, not good soldiers.Having finished their business in Oradam, the operatives returned to Fort Garnik and headed to the interrogation center. There they found Qo'el being interrogated by Kellik | Kellik(Human)CharacterMinor Characters (TOR) | , who served the Mantellian army | Mantellian ArmyOrganizationPlanetary and Sector | . Kellik did not limit himself and hit Qo'el several times. When the operatives intervened, at first he tried to send them away, saying that they did not belong here and that this was a secret operation. Voidhound quipped that it looked more illegal than secret.Kellik attempted to justify his actions, claiming that the courts didn't have the time to deal with every separatist sympathizer, which he believed granted him leeway.Kellik then suggested a more sophisticated way for the operatives to get information about the Separatists, offering Qo'el's ring with a listening device implanted inside and instructing them to return it to Odar and claim that it was the only thing of his daughter they could find - that way he thought they would get all the information they needed about the separatists. However, his offer was rejected, and when the Republic operatives drew their blasters as he hit Qo'el once more, Kellik, not wanting to get into a firefight, agreed to surrender the woman, though he contemptuously stated that they were aiding the enemy. The operatives asked Qo'el if she really was with the separatists and she replied that she went to a couple of protests, attended a few meetings, but she never did anything and certainly didn't know anything. The operatives said she would better return to her farther and warned her to stay out of trouble in the future. She promised to be more careful adding she would call her father as soon as she could - she needed to recover because the torture took more out of her than she expected. When they were later in Oradam, the operatives met with Odar who thanked them for bringing his daughter back to him - she called to tell him what they had done and how grateful she was. Then he began to shout loudly that these were the people who had saved his daughter and that was when the operatives had left. |
